It's wonderful that we have DVD's from these great musicians, they certainly do not produce it like that today
Benny Goodman at age 71 June 6, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Benny is still playing well at 71 even though he sits out on a couple of songs. For his best jazz sound I would suggest my favorite Benny Goodman CD--Small Groups. Also excellent are Trio and Quartet Sessions, and The Benny Goodman Sextet featuring Charlie Christian. Vol. 6 of The Yale University Music Library (also a live recording) has a similar but maybe slightly better sound to this DVD. The video quality of the DVD is just good. Maybe the lighting at the Tivoli was just fair. Enjoy it for the memories, and because I think it is the only Goodman DVD concert.
