Among my all-time favorites December 12, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great recording. I highly recommend it. This will always be, in my opinion, the definitive version of the Beethoven quartet op. 132 -- it's exceptionally well done. The other quartets, by Haydn, Dvorak, and Borodin, are also great. There's not a single false note on this recording.
Uncanny mastery January 17, 2000 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is an amazing recording. The slow movement of Op. 132 is unlike anything I've heard. This group plays the most imaginative Haydn I've heard outside of the Takacs. Their American is extremely charming as well. This is a CD set you'll listen to many times
