Thrown For A Loop June 23, 2003 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Heard this CD before I found out about the Joseph Diamond. He brings a totally different style to smooth jazz. This guy has a latin flavor to his keyboards that is hard to explain. I like it a lot and have already purchased his newest CD. I rate this CD very highly because it jumps off the beaten path and the adventure begins from there. Many customers like to stay on the safe side and won't take chances. I am different. You will not have to take a chance on this CD. I have done that for you. I recommend this CD
A Favorite CD I come back to again and again June 14, 2002 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Take the sophisticated feel of New York Jazz, blend it with some hot latin grooves and you begin to understand the distinctive sounds created by Joesph Diamond. How can a guy who grew up in Liberty, New York have so much salsa in his blood? From the first track you will hear Latin Jazz Piano as it should be done. This CD quickly became a favorite and has stayed at the top of my personal music chart for a number of months. Drummer Vince Cherico keeps the latin jazz feel moving forward. Leo Traversa on bass adds a solid foundation to the mix. A host of other talented artists contribute to achieve a sound that you don't just hear, you feel. At the heart of it all is Joseph Diamond creating a perfect blend of rhythm, groove and melody that you'll find yourself humming later in the day. I challenge you to get into your car, turn on "Not Your Typical New Yorker", and not start feeling better about life in just a few minutes.
You had better be careful with this one! July 26, 2001 This is a MUST-GET C.D. I have never had the pleasure of listening to a more subtle sounding album than when I first heard this one. If you are having a rough day, I suggest that you pop this baby in, hit the highway, and let it take you on a journey to a world of music appreciation!!
UNBELIVABLE RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! October 4, 2000 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Joseph Diamond is in a word FANTASTIC! His tunes are gorgeous, his playing is fiery and the record is so well produced it's just beautiful!! The music is complex but he makes it an effortless listen. This is THE Latin Jazz record. Period. He is so serious it's ridiculous. From first cut to last boyfriend is making BIG TIME MUSIC. If you are a fan of Latin Jazz and killer playing look no further.
