Great music, excellent playing and a bargain April 17, 2008
There are some rather trite recordings of these orchestral fireworks out there, usually not bad, but not very exciting. This set is not one of them. I fell out of my chair to this Pines of Rome for example. And several more, less known works are here too. Rimsky-Korsakov would have been proud of his pupil had he heard this.
Best introduction to the world of Respighi available February 22, 2007

This would have to be the best introduction to the music of Respighi. It has all of his most popular works contained on 2 CD's. The Decca sound as usual is top-notch and all the performances are ones to treasure.
Highly recommended!
