From Buena Vista, kingdom of bubblegum teen pop hails Myra, a kick butt teen with power pipes. However, her efforts would be put to better use with more songs of her caliber. Most the songs on the disc are predictable, and while catchy, border on overproduced.Lie, Lie, Lie < Decent start, though the repetitive chorus gets annoying after awhile. Vocals are slick.
Candy Boy < 100% bubblegum. Listenable depending what mood I'm in.
Like A Girl In Love < Cute and edgy, though at the end she begins to bend all the notes like a Christina Aguilera wannabe. Gets annoying to the ear after a while - if she stuck with her clean, normal vocals it'd be a better song.
Miracles Happen < Ah, the song that boosted her popularity! Inspiring with uplifting strings, this is likely the best song on the CD.
Bye-Bye My Love < Somewhat filler-ish.
25 Hours A Day < A pretty, upbeat ballad. One of my favorites.
Wishing on the Same Star < Soulful wailing with heartfelt effort on Myra's part, but the song falls short.
Dancing in the Street < She sounds like she's having a lot of fun here, but for some reason I can't stand this song.
Where You At? < Typical of the album, follows the same mood as the other songs.
Girls Like Boyz < Fun and preppy!
As If > I love her vocals on this song. They're smooth and easy to listen to.
Hanging Up On You > Familiar and predictable. Filler.
Dreams > Hmm ..okay, I guess. Her voice is a little high pitched to match perfectly with the wailing trumpets.
Over all, catchy teen pop, but the songwriting could be better.
