Album Description The award-winning Classical Kids series introduces children -- and adults -- to the joys of classical music. A dramatic story, a little bit of history and the world's best-loved classical music set the scene for these fun-filled musical adventures. A celebration of poetry, song and classical music. The story follows a family from playtime to dreamtime as they journey through the nursery, the park, the streets of Olde London and then off to bed. A rich variety of great classical lullabies, rounds for family singing and traditional English songs as well as pieces from the Leider, Romantic Opera and Classical Orchestral traditions are featured. Excerpts from Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Schubert, Pachelbel and Tchaikovsky are woven into a colourful musical collage with classic poetry from three centuries - William Blake (1700s), Eugene Fields (1800s) and Dennis Lee (1900s) - with poems written and performed by today's children. Awards: Film Advisory Board Award of Excellence, Practical Home Schooling Reader Awards Music Curriculum Category Also available from Classical Kids: Mr. Bach Comes to Call, Beethoven Lives Upstairs, Mozart's Magic Fantasy, Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery, Tchaikovsky Discovers America, Hallelujah Handel, Mozart's Magnificent Voyage

Perfect gift for new baby or elementary classroom June 25, 2008 This, along with several books, is my standard new baby gift. It's just beautiful and soothing. I used to be an elementary teacher and would use this music to calm my students down when coming in from recess. It can calm adults down too!!!
Heavenly Music January 4, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This music will take you and your little ones to places of adventure and imagination as you "rock in the wooden shoe" along with Winken, Blinken, and Nod. Truly incomparable. I lost my first copy in a move and this was the first thing I purchased once I was settled. Even adults will appreciate this classical style.
Makes me happy every time I hear it December 10, 2001 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
One of my all-time favorite CD's, ever, of any genre of music. It's absolutely beautiful from start to finish. It's difficult to decribe the effect it has, but of course I have to try. It induces a feeling of peace, well-being, elation. The spirit soars, the ear rejoices. I could listen to it over and over and over -- and have. It never gets stale. One of my favorite times to listen to it is on a long, night drive home as the kids fall asleep in the backseat. I bought this for them, and they love it, too. I can't know if it brings them as much joy as it brings me, but I hope so.
Soothing, Comforting February 20, 2001 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this. It's actually a little slice of my happiest, most peaceful childhood moments. It's soothing, comforting and one of my favorite CDs.
Heaven on earth-- December 12, 1999 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
The best CD I have ever heard. We received it as a gift a few years ago. It consistently brings tears to the eyes and joy to the heart. This should be a perennial best seller. I believe the only reason it isn't is because people don't know about it. It is classical music, with trained and sensitive voices. Think of Winken, Blinken and Nod, Dona Nobis Pachem, and more and more, done to perfection. There are not enough superlatives. This is a gift that will be remembered long hence.
