| Customer Reviews:
gotta be honest April 12, 2007 i would be lying if i said i love this cd. i bought this album based on my connection i had on the first two worship circle records- i LOVE those albums. this cd isn't really in the same catergory- it doesn't have the energy, the uniqueness to it that the first ones did. it's hard for me to listen to this cd straight through- it is very repetitious. the sons just don't catch me and are just too similar. i reccomend that if you are buying this because you like the original worship cicle's stuff, you should listen to samples on itunes or something first...
Who Needs Pro Tools When You Got Passion?! June 2, 2006 Let's face it. Ben Pasley has become a modern day David, pouring his heart and soul into Psalms that praise God. What I love best about him is that he takes the faults in his voice and instead of fixing them with Pro Tools, he uses it to emphasize his heartfelt passion (I love it when his voice cracks in "Sweet Forget"). With just a chair and a microphone (and oh yeah, an acoustic guitar), Pasley shows you what praise music is all about. Singing from your heart to the God that saves us and answers us when we call upon him. Ben also has a great sense of community and what it means to be a missionary inside the U.S. His Enter the Worship Circle website offers free guitar chords for all of their songs as well as access to the song's licenses. And he is much cheaper if you wanted to gt him to come to your hometown and play for you than most artists would be willing. While most artists would not be content with this approach to their music, Ben accepts it with open arms and you can hear how genuine he is in his music. And these songs are done in one attempt and the lyrics shine. Highlights include: Pieces, Sweet Forget, Crown Him, Wedding Days, How Precious To Me, and Please Don't Forget. Personally, I think Crown Him has some of the best lyrics I have ever seen. I wish more people knew about this CD. I also hear there is a volume 2 CD coming out soon, but I was saddened to hear that Ben will not be appearing on it. Oh well, maybe on Volume 3. And here are the lyrics to "Crown Him:"
Listen all you unborn children, and those yet to be born again A seed from the God of heaven... was planted here in the world of men He grew up only to be broken, He grow up only to be buried "Hold on," I heard the prophet say, "hold on, that's not the end."
`Cause when the cross went up, the curtain came down And a hush ran across the stage, but when the stone was rolled back All the angels came `round, and the earth stood up on its feet to say...
Crown Him Love, crown Him Alive and Well, Crown Him God of Our Salvation Crown Him Lovely, crown Him Beautiful, He is God and we adore Him...
(At the end): Creation began to speak, here come Jesus In a purple robe, here come Jesus, like a lovely rose Here come Jesus Back from the dead Here come Jesus holding out His hand
Heart felt and to the point January 20, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ben Pasley wastes no time getting to the heart of the matter. From start to finish this CD is an ecxellent blend of emotions that any Christian can relate to on the most intimate of levels. Strongly recommended for anyone searching for a present day David singing pslams and hymns about God and for God. It is the lyrics behind the rythmn that I found most alluring. Combined with a passionate Pasley and his guitar, this CD is perfect at capturing the essence of heartfelt worship to a God who is as near as our own heart.
