Amazing Collection, Amazing Ensemble! March 30, 2006

This set is an absolute gem, and for two reasons: First, because it is so rare and hard to come across; Second, because the quality of the music is at such a high level. This 5 CD SET ought to be part of every collection of fine music. Christopher Hogwood is one of the finest conductors of Baroque music that I've ever heard. The included rendition of Corelli's "Christmas Concerto" is the best recording I'v heard. As well, this set includes the complete "Four Seasons," which, while not exceptional, are quite satisfactory. This is a must own set for high quality recording collectors.

A must have for anyone who enjoys Baroque Music!This would also be a great buy for those who are interested in Classical Music but are wondering where to begin.
