5 out of 5 stars BEST CD I HAVE HEARD IN YEARS   February 11, 2003

The only word that comes to mind when I listen to this is WOW! Good from start to finish. These guys are more talented than pretty much any band on the radio. Bass player is incredible. But they all blend together perfect...kinda like incubus does. Just a special note...their live show is just as good, if not better. I am just sorry I didnt find out about them earlier. Get this and you WILL enjoy it.

I've seen these guys live and they're great. I try to catch them everytime they hit town. If you're not lucky enough to see them live, you should definately get their CD. Get it anyway. It's worth it. Very talented band. Can't wait for their next release!

5 out of 5 stars Salmon Mating Overtime   October 10, 2000

Doesn't it suck when you hear a cool track on a cd and you buy the product, but the only song that rocks is that one track? This will NOT happen with "Living Instrument." Unlike those other "eclectic, multi-influenced " bands that just come off sounding like DMB or The Dead, SMO has found a way to take reggae, funk, geek rock, and soul singing into the tastiest salmon patty this side of the Mississippi. I recommend "Bomb" and "Storyteller" as songs you wish the radio played 24 hours a day. Although the band is made up of 4 equally talented instrumentalists, I feel the driving force is the dual vocal action of Jeremy and Jeremiah; the harmonies are too tight to cut, and the lyrics have "Wheezer" appeal. I recommend this cd to anyone who is tired of Bush and the Foo Fighters, but still longs for an explosive rock band. Stolen Moment Overture!

5 out of 5 stars SMO ROCKS!   January 21, 2000

SMO is one of my favorite bands. I've seen them several times and they always make me smile with their creative song writing skills and ability to have fun more than anyone i've ever seen. They are the nicest people you'll ever meet and if you like music - in general - you WILL like what you hear. They are very much worth hearing. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED!
