Everything this man does is great, so putting many years together in one place could only be the same.

Of course this is a 5-star production, but I deducted a star only because any one who has been collecting Galway recordings already has all or most of the selections on this CD. As with other artists, BMG has been repackaging earlier Galway offerings under many names and excuses; is the simply the latest (though certainly not last) in the series. The music is the usual mixture of short pieces that can stand on their own and movements that cannot out of the context of the larger works from which they are lifted. Still I put this CD on as background music to a dinner and it worked just fine. So like most Galway collections, it makes for some lovely listening when doing something else or just relaxing. In fact, when your baby gets tired of those Bach for Babies sets, try Galway as a very nice substitute. Hey, BMG! How's that for a packaging idea?
