Jerry Lee Lewis Killer Piano March 15, 2008 For those die hard fans of Jerry Lee this is a great video. Even though Jerry Lee is getting along in years now, he still has the great talent of playing that piano. This is a must see video for all fans of him and his music. I recently went to see him in concert for the very first time and he still has it! So do buy this video, you will definately not be disappointed.
Great for true fans March 10, 2008 If you are a true Jerry Lee Lewis fan you will love this. It is an interview format with performances included. If you're not a real fan you might find this boring.
Super musician February 22, 2008 For music, Jerry Lee can't be beat and his piano touch is excellent and no one can take care of a amelody like him. He is Beethoven in the type of music he does. If you like music he can't be beat. If to you music is noise, look for a guitar player. Carl
Great Video of Jerry Lee Lewis January 24, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is not a STRICTLY instructional video, it DOES have lots of interview time, and NO tips whatsoever on 'how to do it'. But if you are a JLL fan, it is very well done. There is plenty of studio footage of JLL playing 10 songs piano and vocal, all with split screen shots showing the hands and the piano. All 10 songs are followed by FULL SONG clips from a 2006 concert of JLL with band playing the same song just demonstrated in studio. JLL of 2006 is an OLD MAN, past his prime, but again, if you are a fan of his work and his way of playing piano, and his way of singing, etc.... this is a treasure. I promise!
Great, Historical, I Really Loved It. December 23, 2007 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I'm fifty-four and I've been a Jerry Lee fan ever since I can remember. I've seen him in person no less than five times and he always blew my mind--good on tv but unbelievable in person.
This is Jerry reminiscing but also playing some of his great songs unaccompanied--just him and that old piano--with the camera up above him where musicians can see his hands. I loved it. None of us are getting any younger and I'm glad we have this document so that we can all actually see how the magic was made--and make no mistake about it, when he gets both hands going the magic is definitely still there. Fantastic.
I can't think of any performer who has given me more pure joy over the whole course of my life than Jerry Lee Lewis, the Killer, and this is a very welcome addition to my collection.
Believe it or not I have a little boy who has recently asked (on his own!) for piano lessons (!) and I can't wait to turn him onto this. Jerry Lee Lewis is actually a very nice person (I met him once) and he's someone whose music always makes me happy, no matter how down I might be.
Thanks, Killer, and many happy returns.
