| Editorial Reviews:
Album Description This is the new project from Blake Sennett, co-singer/songwriter of Rilo Kiley. "Me First" includes the help of Mike Mogis (Saddle Creek Records partner and producer extraordinaire), Jimmy Tamborello (Postal Service, Dntel), Jason Boesel (Rilo Kiley), Daniel Brummel (Ozma), Orinda Fink (Azure Ray), Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley, Postal Service), Schmed (Arlo), and many others. It incorporates everything from lap steel to melodic, glitchy electronics. A compelling, cinematic framework for Sennett's exemplary songwriting.

This is great December 6, 2007 If you, like me, discovered this group because of your love for the older Rilo Kiley sound, you will be pleased. It's not the same sound, but all of the parts of the good old Rilo Kiley is there, but now with a few other ingredients. It's unique from Rilo Kiley, but close enough to ensure you'll enjoy it. There is a lot of anger on this album, submerged in usually mellow slow songs, but I find it very good listening.
Hey, and you can't beat the pig on the front of the album...I mean, come on!
Amazing album that hasn't left my playlist December 9, 2005 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Elected's Me First is music that grows on you with every listen. From the first track to the last, you will be amazed.
I'm very much looking forward to the Elected's new release in January, Sun, Sun Sun.
THIS ALBUM IS AMAZINGLY 3 Stars October 10, 2005 7 out of 13 found this review helpful
this album is not five stars. the album has good variety, and three damn good songs, but the rest of the album is thrown into the categorie of uncreative country rock. Blake Sennett's guitar work is, as always, superb, and the overall album is good, but five stars, dont be ridiculous.
Don't miss it. October 1, 2005 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
To be brief: Brilliant song writing, perfect execution. Lyrical and edgy at the same time. A wonderful experience.
Perfect Album June 25, 2005 4 out of 10 found this review helpful
A Perfect Album full of perfect hooks, written by perfect musicians in perfect land. Maybe thats a bit of an exxageration but i can say honestly that i personally cant see a flaw in this beautiful collection of songs and i have owned this Album for about a year now. i still cant get enough of it. Hope they put out another album sooner rather than later
