Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Elixir Strings give acoustic guitar players something they have long been waiting for; phosphor bronze strings that keep their tonal "sweet spot" over the entire life of the string. The consensus among many musicians is that phosphor bronze strings offer the most sensitive, expressive tone that brings out the very best in guitars-virtually taking them to a higher level of play. However, that tone can be short-lived. Elixir Strings has solved this classic conundrum by applying an ultra-thin layer of NANOWEB Coating to protect the string's windings hence preserving the coveted phosphor bronze tone. Gauges: 012; 016; 024w; 032w; 042w; 053w

5 out of 5 stars Elixirs are the best   October 30, 2007
Elixir strings are the best strings out there. They are smooth and comfortable, they last much longer than other strings, and they sound richer for a longer amount of time. I refuse to put anything less than elixirs on my guitar.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful tone and longevity   May 5, 2007
I've used Elixir strings for some time now. I love the longevity of the tone and ease of playing. The only problem was that the thick polyweb coating deadened the tone a bit too much for me to get what I consider the ultimate tone for my taste, but still played them anyway.

These Phosphor Bronze strings, with Nanoweb, in my opinion, are the perfect string. The longevity of Elixir with the warm, yet punchy, sound of uncoated phosphor bronze. These strings gave a whole new life to my Yamaha FGX-B1 bamboo acoustic electric guitar. This combination of guitar/string is my ideal sound, hands down. I've tried them on other acoustic guitars as well and was pleasantly surprised at the results.

If you want superior acoustic sound that lasts an extra long time, these are the strings to go for.

4 out of 5 stars Elixir PBs   October 27, 2006
I was skeptical of how these strings would sound on my Taylor 414ce, as I'd hated the sound of the original Elixir Nanos...but, I decided to try the Phosphor Bronze, in place of my usual Elixir Polywebs...I'm glad I tried them, as they do have more of a warm, bluesy sound to my ears...the only reason I didn't put 5 stars is that there's the usual string squeak I find with all strings I've tried, other than the Polywebs...definitely worth a try...!

5 out of 5 stars Incredible sound!   March 6, 2006

Having read the reviews about the new phosphor bronze Elixir strings, I was skeptical on the improvement that could be heard on my beloved Taylor 814CE over the standard Elixir strings (light gauge Polywebs) that had been recommended for this guitar. After buying and installing the first set, I was pleasantly surprised at the sound that I got from the new strings and, 2 months later, I hear no deterioration of that sound quality at all. I love the quality of sound that I get from these new phosphor bronze strings! A bit more "attitude" than the previous Elixirs that I tried but still providing the warmth and fullness that I was used to on my guitar. You must try a set on your guitar!
