3 out of 5 stars this metronome has problems   March 28, 2008
i like the way this metronome is thought out but think that in the end it is too endlessly complicated. there are also problems with it that i cannot seem to understand. when i am using it at a tempo and attempt to change the tempo it will suddenly half the metronome marking and stay there with budging no matter what i do to it. i will have to return it and get another brand as this is a malfunction i am sure.

4 out of 5 stars great little metronome   March 9, 2008
First I want to say that the review that says "no volume adjustment" is just wrong. You can clearly see the volume dial at the top-right of the product photograph.

It's very small and light and it does what it's supposed to do. I wouldn't say it has a "nice woody tone" but it's a perfectly fine tone. It's easy to use, as such a simple device should be. I use it for practicing guitar and it's great for that. I've realized that if I don't have this little thing clipped to my music stand, I just won't practice with a metronome at all, so it's great to have. And the price is great.

5 out of 5 stars Dr. Beat can't be beat   February 28, 2008
I am a new drummer and the Dr. Beat metronome is really helping me learn to keep time. it is a quality machine that is easy to use. One nice feature is that on the fourth beat (or first, depending on how you count) there is a different tone signifying the fourth or first beat. I highly recommend it!

4 out of 5 stars Metronome review   February 15, 2008
This is a nice metronome for the price. It's loud enough to hear over my bass guitar, and has a port for headphones if needed. Instead of the wooden click, clack noise of a traditional metronome this unit has more of an electronic pulse. It works, but I would have liked to have known this ahead of time. For the money though, it's hard to beat this product.

There's no volume adjustment, and no way to adjust the click tone, which is a high-pitched electronic bleep. The bleep has a definite pitch to it, which is a problem if you are playing in a different key than the metronome is bleeping in.
