idiot proof October 21, 2007 i never played an instrument, i was never good trying it, but now i picked up the hawaiian ukulele, just for fun. since i'm not good at all tuning any instrument (eg using an online ukulele tuner like the ones commonly available on many sites where you have to compare the sound of the speakers with the sound of the ukulele), i started looking around for a tuning device.
a regular guitar tuner wouldn't work for the G-C-E-A setting of the ukulele i found that out. but this one works, since it picks up all kinds of notes, namely C, D, E, F, G, A, B, and it also let's me know if it's sharp (#) or not. it takes a 9 volt battery so be prepared.
i put the battery in, switched it on and literally had the ukulele tuned within less than 5 minutes (once i had figured out that it's correctly tuned only when the C is highlighted and the "#" is NOT highlighted. i'm highly satisfied with this device.

When I recieved the tuner, I was very pleased. The tuner works great and helps me tune my guitar very quickly. It came with instructions as well as its box.
Great Transaction!
Good within limits June 17, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I find this tuner to be accurate for middle ranges, however, I play flute and piccolo. It will not pick up the piccolo even in the lowest range and certainly not the flute in higher registers. This might be perfect for a lower range instrument. It is certainly small and quick and seems to be accurate, when it does pick up.
