 Not sure if this works yet... July 27, 2008
I bought this for my alto sax playing. A friend of mine has the smaller, probably older version of this device. Hers does not come with the manual transpose feature.
When I play a note, her tuner indicates that my note is correct, every time. We placed my new device next to hers, and the two do not agree. This new one does never seem to find the note played. Also, I am not sure if the transpose works correctly, we both tried to follow the instructions, and the result seems rather random each time...
I'll take it to my local music store to let the guys there take a look, but I suspect something is wrong with it...
Once I figure it out, I'll make an addition to this review then, one way or the other!

I purchased this guitar tuner 4 years ago and it's been a good investment and welcome piece of equipment to have and carry. It's small enough to fit in your music bag, it has a nice clip that holds onto the bottom of your music stand, and it's very easy to use. Just turn the tuner on and play your note, the tuner automatically find the note you're tuning to and tells you what adjustment to make, without any beepers or annoying sounds. A red or green light also tells you whether you're in tune in additional to the directional lights telling you which way to tune. You can play and tune unplugged or use your amp cord and plug directly into the tuner itself. We actually bought this because it's what the guitar teacher used in class for my sons and it seemed really easy to use. Recommended!

if you have to keep a tuner around for quick, easy reference, this one gives bang for the buck. handy and durable. fits in your case or gig bag. quick and idiot-proof.
