I was recommended this product about 15 years ago when I bought my first 12- string acoustic. I figured it would be easier than having my ears wrestle with 12 strings on a regular basis. I am just now replacing it. It has gotten a TON of use over the years, and I only had to replace the batteries twice that I can remember. Love the contact pad on the bottom - sticks easily to the wooden surface of the acoustic. Can't vouch for how it would perform on a hardbody electric, but if you want a hand tuning your acoustic, this little buddy is well worth the investment. The only issue is trying to tune in sunlight - the displays wash out in bright light. Other than that, it's been a great help.

I'm a newbie to guitar playing, and have a Kona Acoustic/Electiric guitar. I tried to match the pitch of my guitar strings to Esteban on his DVDs, and I was having a tough time.
A professional guitarist friend of mine suggested this tuner to me. Within minutes of placing the AX3000 on the face of my guitar near the neck, it took my just a few minutes to perfectly tune my guitar--and this was my first time with no one helping me.
It attaches to your guitar easily, and comes off easily. Sabine makes tuning my guitar as simple as can be. From the other reviewer, I guess this tuner is less successful with electric guitars-I dunno.
I can finally tune my guitar, but I still can't tuna fish.
 Great for Acoustics, Worthless for Solid Body Guitars October 23, 2007
Accurate tuning for the most part. Does not pick up signal well on solid body electrics. Not suitable as a stage tuner.
