5 out of 5 stars Dependable   April 13, 2008

I have had this shoulder rest for at least 6 years. It has NEVER fallen off my instrument, ever. it can be molded to fit your shoulder and chest exactly. love it.

4 out of 5 stars Used it for 4 years - trying the Kun again   March 13, 2008
Before using this rest I used the Kun Orig and the Kun Bravo. The first Kun stopped "gripping" the fiddle after awhile, and the Bravo snapped in half due to carelessness on my part (it's wooden). The BonMusica has been great. It was a little bulky to begin with and get used to, but it is very comfortable and attaches easily. I have a few complaints - the nuts that adjust the fork members come loose easily, to the point where I lost one - I tried to replace it with a new one from Home Depot but the threading is a very odd size. Recently I lost a second nut - so I have decided to try the Super Kun - hopefully it works out and I won't have to return it.
On a side note - last night I was playing w/o the BonMusica for a long time, using instead a folded dishtowel held on with a rubber band. The sound is very different - not sure if that is a real effect or if it is just the angle/distance of my ears from the sound holes.

4 out of 5 stars Very comfortable, but inconvenient   October 3, 2007

This is a very comfortable shoulder rest, and with it I find that it requires very little effort (none, really) to support the violin. The only downside is the shape and size, which makes it very difficult to find a violin case that will hold it. Of course, the size and shape is also what makes it comfortable, so it's hard to get too upset about that.

I'm giving it a 5-star rating, though, since anyone who reads my review will know what to expect going in, regarding its awkwardness.

2 out of 5 stars shortneck folks look somewhere else   September 18, 2007

If you are short neck individual (say you have broad athletic shoulder and great trapezoid muscle) this shoulder rest wont work for you. Even at its lower position it will be too high.

5 out of 5 stars the best of the best shoulder rest that you could buy   September 1, 2007

If you are just not satisfied with your current shoulder rest, this will absolutely blow you away. It is completely flexible, so that it fits perfectly. I used to get this hickey on my neck, but since I bought Bon Musica, it has been nonexistent. You can move every single part of it, most surprising, the main part. It fits absolutely perfectly and I absolutely love it.
