These Tarahumara drums are hand carved from pine trunks by the Tarahumara Mexican Indians. Each drum is approx. 6" tall and between 3 1/4" - 4 1/2" in diameter. After the pine trunk is carved, rawhide is tightly stretched on the tops and bottom and tied together. They can be used as actual drums for a musical effect and the sound changes as the wood dries over time. They can simply be used as a decorative piece or grouped together to make an authentic Folk Art display. These drums are purchased directly from the Tarahumara Indians and each purchase helps with their survival.

This was a great purchase for my two year old that wanted to hit everything. Now he hits his drum. It is handmade and small for little hands. Love it.
