Product Description Increase your rhythm vocabulary with Dr. Rhythm. The DR-880 is a rhythm-programming powerhouse that's loaded with drum, percussion, and bass sounds from Roland's SRX library. It also includes a stunning collection of original waveforms. You can get microscopic with the DR-880, but you can also take it simple with its 3 EZ Compose buttons, which allow original patterns to be made without note-by-note programming. Patterns can be taken deeper with the Groove Modify feature, where various groove and triplet feels can be applied. Ghost notes and fills can also be added automatically. Guitar and bass players can join the action by plugging directly to the DR-880's Guitar/Bass Input jack, and playing through the built-in COSM Drive/Amp models and multi-effects.

AMAZING MACHINE!! April 11, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Roland (Boss) DR-880 is an amazing machine!! It's literally a band in a box and your in control of everything! Certain functions on the DR-880 are a no brainer, while others require that you read the owners manual. But if you also buy the DVD owners manual that's avaliable, you will thank yourself over and over again like I do! It's step by step instruction that shows you how to put a round peg in a round hole and if you can't figure this machine out by watching the DVD, then your a complete idiot and have no business owning something this incredible!

I got a tremendous price so I was a little worried that the unit might have been damaged but it worked just fine. Thanks for a great buy.
How much time have you got October 13, 2007 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have owned this rhythm machine for two years and yet to use it productively. Why? It's far too complicated. People who buy this are likely thinking - I can replace the drummer who won't come to practices. The steps to getting a single song recorded are cumbersome and the menu's too much trouble to memorize. These guys like Roland never heard of the PC before so while there is lots of connectivity their is no PC software with an intuitive interface you can use to program your songs on the computer.
I've taken three runs at learning it, even bought a DVD. It's much easier to keep practicing guitar and waiting for the drummer.
Thanks for stopping by.
