 Unhappy with Bongos Hardware - Poor Quality January 16, 2007

The hardware associated with tuning the bongo is cheap plastic - not metal. We asked a music teacher to 'tune' our purchase and on his first attempt to tune the bongos - while adjusting the tuning screw - the plastic holder broke. From our perspective - this is NOT a quality instrument that is worth the money we spent on it - when the hardware is simply molded plastic. I don't feel we received our money's worth on this selection. In order to fix our purchase and make it usable - we would have to purchase new metal tuning screw holders from a music store and retrofit them to the bongos.

These are some fun and cool looking bongos. I'm no professional bongo player so I don't know if the sound quality is great on these or not, but they look great and they're always there in case you get the urge to slap some skins.
