I play this at the office and it reduces my reaction to the stress. A keeper!

2 out of 5 stars Similar to "most Relaxing Piano anywhere"   August 23, 2006

I would like to delete about half of the truly unfamiliar tracks and possibly add a couple of better known more familiar works.

4 out of 5 stars The Most Relaxing Classical Album in the World   August 4, 2006

This is a wonderful selection of classical music. Very relaxing and enjoyable. There are a few selections that are not "popular" classical selections. But, overall good selection of well known classical music.

1 out of 5 stars Round agreement with other reviewers who give this CD a thumbs down   August 1, 2006

When a composer writes a work in multiple movements there is a reason for it, and it isn't so the marketing department of a record label to make a compilation CD presenting movements out of context as "relaxing". That is entirely both a detriment to the composer's vision, and a dumbing down of what "classical" music is all about.

Some may say that it is nice that people are buying and listening to classical music at all. Maybe I could agree, were people actually listening to the music. That might lead to a real interest in it. But, unfortunately, it has been my experience that people who buy CD s like this one do anything but listen to it. They put the disk in, reduce the volume to virtual inaudibility, and then... read, dust, balance their checkbook etc... virtually anything except actually sitting and putting their full concentration into listening. If this is what you are planning, I would recommend Kenny G instead. At least ignoring his music won't actually cause you to miss anything.
