Nothing like lame Britney Spears July 29, 2002 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
One of the things I like about Myra is that she doesn't try to sound like anyone else. She has a unique talent and a really great voice. This CD has a variety of songs that are all great. I highly recommend this disc!
Bubble Gum Pop will never leave will it? July 2, 2002 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Ok.. everyone's got potential.. she's got a good voice but her music is just bubble gum pop with her little twist added onto it. Her song on the princess diaries was catchy but irritating. Dancing in the street was ok, but she really has to sing some other material. Maybe if she didn't have that "another pop singer" look then more people would listen to her. It's just like Krystal with Super Girl. If she had a less pop edge to her music, I would've given her a higher rating.
Cool May 20, 2002 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I think this was a great CD. I think it was so great because it had music on it that was almost perfect except for like 1 or 2 songs on it that were too slow or just not my type.
Bubblegum-Pop With a Latino Twist January 28, 2002 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not a bad album for her first. Best songs are "Miracles Happen(When You Believe)"-from The Princess Diaries, " Wishing on the Same Star"- a classy ballad, and " Dancing in the Street"-an upbeat remake of the Martha and the Vandellas hit single. Some of the songs are really corny and are made up of soooo much bubblegum they'll give you a musical toothache, like "Hanging up on You", " Lie,Lie,Lie", " Candy Boy", and " Girls Like Boyz". Myra's got an okay voice, but it's nothing too special. But, on the other hand, this again is not too bad for her first album.
