5 out of 5 stars Excellent CD   October 11, 2005

Loved the CD, same music as on the DVD which my 20-month-old grandson loves. Falls asleep at night with the CD on, and I leave it on all night to soothe him if he wakes. Great puchase, worth the money!

My daughter and I love to listen to this CD while driving in the car. Although I believe that listening to the real instruments and to the original classical arrangements is the most benificial to a growing baby, my daugher seems to listen to this synthesized version "better" than the real thing. The developers seem to have paid attention to finding instruments similar to the real thing, but tonally different enough to be more easily heard. Just a hunch though. Being a radio station surfer myself, I appreciate the shortened songs.

2 out of 5 stars Ugh, what's the point?   May 19, 2005

I like the Baby Einstein books, so I was enthusiastic about this DVD when I received it as a gift. However, my husband and I were both sorely disappointed. It's nothing but a 30-minute commercial for Baby Einstein products; it shows images of various toys while music-box type Bach melodies play in the background. There are two cute girls featured but they don't do much other than dance around a little bit and babble. I'd much rather play Fantasia for my children, which uses the original orchestral instrumentation and meaningful images.

I probably would have given this product just one star except that my 2-year-old actually likes it, so I suppose it's good when I need a break and don't want her to watch regular TV.

2 out of 5 stars OK but "babied" down   February 3, 2005

We got this CD when I was pregnant with our son, who is now 17 months old, because we knew the benefits of classical music on young children. I feel that the CD is just OK and it's really "babied" down or music box like as the previous reviews suggest. I think it's important for children to hear "real" instruments. I would not recommend this CD. If you're looking to expose your child to classical music, go with the real thing.

I selected this cd when the music store I was in did not have Baby Mozart, the one I had heard about. Now that I have both I can say that this one, Baby Bach, is my favorite. The music is not quite as music-box-like as the Mozart cd so you and baby can listen to it a million times without tiring of any selection.
