4 out of 5 stars From a girl who likes all kinds of music.   June 15, 2006

Hilary Duff came into the music business when she was just 15 years old. Her debut single, 'So Yesterday' did phenomenanly well and her debut album 'Metamorphosis' was not only critically acclaimed, but well loved by kids and teens all over.

And yet, people hate Hilary. And yet, they call her names and say that 'she sucks'. Well i have a question...If she sucks so much, why did this album go triple platinum? (check wikipedia if you dont believe me)

The answer is, Hilary does NOT suck. She has her shortcomings like any other artist or human being even. Her voice has limitations, but when matched to the right song, these very limitations sound refreshing because it's like listening to a real life teenage girl who is just trying to make it in the world.

Yes, that's all Hilary is. All she wants to do is sing and act and live her life and yet the haters try to stop her from doing this. If you dont like Hilary, nobody is forcing you to listen to her. Turn off the radio when her song comes on, change the channel when her music video is on and dont buy her album if you dont like her.

And if you'd like to share your opinion over here on why Hilary is bad, is it so hard to give a reason instead of just saying 'Hilary sucks'? I mean, i dont like Sarah Hudson, so i gave her a bad reveiw. But i also explained why i didnt like her (read my Sarah Hudson reveiw if you want to know) and that's it. I dont force myself to listen to Sarah, so why do haters force themselves to listen to Hilary?

All in all, Hilary Duff is a good artist. Her songs are fun, catchy and have good messages in them. She's successful, she's sweet, she's talented and she's got a clean image. What else do you need from a young teen star?

I'd reccommend this album to all pop music lovers - it's the best pop music out there.

I'm really sorry Hilary, but besides Come Clean, your songs are terrible. You seem like a nice girl and you have an okay voice but you weren't cut out for this. Sorry to say, except for the Lizzie McGuire show, your acting stinks too. If I were you I'd give up quietly.

3 out of 5 stars Decent debut effort   May 8, 2006

Teen pop had a new princess in the making in Hilary Duff. She ruled Disney TV as a precocious pre-teen in the early 2000s, but in 2003 made an expected jump onto the charts with her debut album. First single "So Yesterday" topped charts internationally, and it's understandable--the song is the perfect blend for the teen pop market at the time, incorporating the pop-rock style that had become popular a year earlier. The disc's second single "Come Clean" was an equally famous hit, topping the Top 10 easily in countries around the globe. Though the rest of the record didn't receive any additional airplay, those two listenable singles helped establish the actress as a credible, though somewhat bland pop star. For a debut album, Hilary Duff's CD followed the pack of late 90s pop queens Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, releasing a record that had a few awesome hits and the rest well-done filler. Though not in comparison consistently to her second album, Hilary Duff still proved she could do Top 40 music on this record.

5 out of 5 stars Hilarys 'Metamorphosis'......   May 2, 2006

Hilarys CD is about her Metamorphosis from 'Lizzie' (the show) to "Hilary Duff" (The album)and its a pretty....AWESOME debut, very poppy, very Rocky too, also sweetly sweet.

1.So yesterday: Fun track about already being over the person whos trying to get over you, i have a LOVE/Hate relationship with this song 5/10

2.Come clean: Deeper the Deep and its the song that got me into her, its a mellow track, but her vocals really soar on this track 10/10

3.Workin' it out: fun track, inspring to the furthest degree grew on me too, Awesome 9/10

4.Little voice: This song is about someone not knowing what you thought but thinking they do, applys to everywhere one of my 'first loves' when it comes to this album 11/10

5.Where did I go right: Slow song, a song that uses her vocals like theres sposed to be used, grew on me alot and its got nothing on the next track though. 8/10

6.Anywhere but here:This also is another 'first loves' of this CD and its probably overrall her BEST song, its sweet, similar to Symtoms Of You on Speak but its sweeter, great track infinity/10

7.The math: the most rocky track on this album besides the title track, great track 'first love' too 10/10

8.Love just is: grew on me, sweet song nothing to original but again her voice rocks, she does best on this kind of songs 9/10

9.Sweet Sixteen: 3rd best song on this record Very poppy, mildly rocky and techno elements, great lyrics, great to play when you 'feel free' Infinity - 1/10

10.Party up: song about being flirty and having fun, great runner up to the next track 11/10

11.Metamorphosis:her voice is warped in the song, the vocals are top notch, this song just rocks and its about growing up and also being flirty, BEST SONG TO DANCE TO easily + my "FIRST LOVE" as far as this albums concerned, definately worth it!!
infinity + 1/10

12.Inner Strength:Short poem/song, its inspiring, but it depends on who you are how its gunna effect you 8/10
BONUS TRACKS:
13.Why not: flirty song, lyrics are different from the LM version, this one is better, fun track 10/10

14.Girl can rock: fun track, girl power screams this song, fun track to dance too 10/10

14. A Day In The Sun: the bonus on the Aus/Asian version of the CD, fun sweet song, definately underrated, definately fun in the Sweet Sixteen way 10/10

Top 3 songs on the record:
1. Metamorphosis
2. Anywhere But Here
3. Sweet Sixteen

This album is great for anyone...who loves pop or girl rock/pop, so by it for Teenagers and tweenagers too, good CD BUY IT!!

LOve,
Katy
