Baby Einstein is a wonderful new line of videos to help aid in your child's development. Get them off to a very good start with these videos, and this special one, Baby Wordsworth. Get them well on the way to a successful future now! Don't wait!

5 out of 5 stars Love It~   May 17, 2007

This is definately worth the time and money to invest for your child. What a learning experience in teaching tool. Get it! You won't regret it. Your child will love it. I use this in my daycare too and all my children are well beyond their age appropriate learning capacity. Any B.E. video is well worth it!

I was very disappointed with this DVD. It was boring and couldn't keep my granddaughter's interest.

5 out of 5 stars My son's favorite!   May 10, 2007

My son asks for this video by doing the sign for cat (the "host" is a cat puppet) every night! He is enthralled with this video and he can't seem to get enough of it. He is 2 1/2 and has a speech delay so it has been extremely helpful to have another mode of communication to help understand him. I'm not sure that they focus on the most useful signs, but it is not necessarily intended for speech delayed children. It does help when he sees something like a flower and can sign to me what he is so excited about! We have been teaching him ASL (American Sign Language) since he was 11 months but having this video helps reinforce signs. It is helpful to see a child signing. I like that they use ASL signs because they will be more useful to him in the future than Signed English or baby signs.

I also like that they use several references for each sign. Marlee goes through the objects and signs each one, then they show multiple images of each object, including classical art and real world images as well as video of children using or playing with the object. Then the child goes through the objects and signs each one. This is really helpful for children who have difficulties generalizing.

I am hoping they come out with more of these type of videos. This video focused on the objects around a house. I would like to see videos with transportation, animals (a zoo?), and a grocery store. It is extremely helpful to have children be able to sign things they see on a regular basis.

Overall, we love this video. It is entertaining and educational. I'm amazed at how quickly my son picks up the signs, even the multiple step signs, like blocks and puzzles. The music is nice, the puppets are funny and the images are beautiful.

I bought this DVD for my granddaughter (10 months). My son tells me she is fascinated and he loves it because it gives him 15 minutes to read the paper, have a cup of coffee----- She sits in her activity walker and focuses.
