5 out of 5 stars Loved this CD!   September 8, 2008
This is a great cd! If you can catch the show, by all means go and see it! There is also another cd which has the other half of the songs from the show.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding   September 7, 2008
This CD is awesome, different, outstanding. The DVD of the show is even better. Waiting for "Act II"

5 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!   September 6, 2008

I love this cd! My 6 & 3 year old daughters love this cd too! They know all of the words (even if they have no idea what they are, they still belt it out!! One corrects the other & they're both wrong, but no one cares!)

Each singer has a unique sound and we love them all!
It's the only cd we play in the car.

2 out of 5 stars Pure schmaltz   September 6, 2008
Like a lot of people here, I discovered Celtic Thunder via PBS. My initial reaction was "gee, they finally got around to putting together a male version of Celtic Woman". Although I was unimpressed with the tv concert, I still decided to check out their music via my library. Unlike Celtic Woman though, Celtic Thunder's music is more folk than classical. I think there are elements of classical in their music but they are really subtle. My overall impression of the group's debut album remains the same "unimpressed". I found a good deal of their music overtly sappy and felt I was getting cavities while listening to their cd. Of course a few songs from the tv concert wasn't included on the cd because the record company wants gullible people to shell out more hard earned money on the dvd if you want to hear the missing songs or just wait for the next cd to come out very soon. I wish people would stop complaining about the missing songs. Worst song on the album? Easily it is that rancid pop song "Puppy Love". I hated it when Donny Osmond sang it, I hated it even more when Damian sang it. Absolutely dreadful. The few songs that I really did like was "The Voyage", "Steal Away", "The Old Man" (despite its sappy lyrics). The men can sing well, except for Damian whose voice is too nasally for my liking. I do hope their material for the next album isn't so schmaltzy and reeks of crass commercialism.

5 out of 5 stars Celtic Thunder Review   September 6, 2008
An excellent piece of music. While the DVD by the same Title includes additional material, this is still a very credible cd. Very enjoyable to listen to.
