A Must-Have for Classical Music Fans May 8, 2000 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Beautiful recordings of Beethoven's finest works by the top names in symphony today. The London Symphony does a tremendous job under the conduction of Sir George Solti. The musical soloists perform at their musical best throughout the album. The sound quality is SUPERB. Beethoven has never sounded better.
The essential Beethoven May 1, 2000 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you saw the movie, then you have to have the music. If not, this is still a good compilation of Beethoven's best known works.
Moving October 23, 1999 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This CD is as moving as the movie and relates the passion of a tormented soul and musical genius. Fantastic listening for classical enthusiasts.

I love this CD. All the music on it is wonderful. I like to listen to this CD in the morning as I am getting ready for my day and sometimes at night. Its very good music, and many of the songs are quiet soothing.
Very Good May 3, 1999 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This collection is filled with many beautiful renditions of Beethoven's great music. My only complaint (and the only reason why this CD gets four stars instead of five) is that the Ode to Joy is only instrumental and does not include the great choral part. Other than that, I recommend you buy this CD.
