Brilliant September 3, 2001 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
Altho minimalism isn't a central theme on this CD, it's still wonderful. The bizzare instrumentation and generally rapid piecies conjures images of racing past landscapes on other planets. I haven't seen any of the operas for which the music was written, but still consider this a great album.
1000 Airplanes is Wonderful July 10, 2000 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
"1000 Airplanes on the Roof" is wonderful. I bought it because I'm a huge Linda Ronstadt fan but now I have immense respect for Philip Glass as well. His composition here is brilliant. Linda's singing is brilliant. Glass and Ronstadt fans shouldn't be disappointed.
If you like Philip Glass - You want this CD April 24, 1999 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
While this CD get's no press, I think it is another great work from Philip Glass. I find it to be a fast moving high-energy work. To give perspective some of my other favorite Philip Glass CD's are : Song's from Liquid Day's, Photographer, Hydrogen Jukebox, Kundun, Glassworks and Einstein on the Beach. If you like Philip Glass, you will like this CD.
Esoteria. Not for the faint of heart. December 17, 1998 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a science-fiction score ala Philip Glass. A commissioned piece, it has some mimimalism to it and a reoccuring theme. Features Linda Ronstadt on howl. Definately not mood music, unless your in the mood to orbit a faraway planet.
