Nice for the price April 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For the price, you can't beat this digital metronome. Having both the tuner and metronome is the only way to go. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of an odd way it is designed. The tempo and beat buttons on the left are in the opposite position for where the tempo and beat appear on the screen. I just find that a bit of a funky design flaw, but all in all, it's a good product. And with free shipping, what more can you ask!
KORG TM-40. A VERY GOOD METRONOME AND TUNER! March 23, 2008 I RECEIVED THIS TUNER AS A GIFT LAST YEAR, AND DECIDED TO BUY ONE FOR MY NEPHEW WHO PLAYS GUITAR. HE SAYS THAT IT HELPS HIM VERY MUCH. I ALSO PLAY GUITAR AND ALTHOUGH I DO NOT NEED A TUNER TO TUNE IT, I LOVE IT. I HAVE NEVER USED THE METRONOME, BUT MY NEPHEW DOES AND LOVES IT. WE RECOMMEND IT.
Korg TM-40 February 24, 2008 Excellent unit easy to use great aid for learning your music. Worth every penny.
Awesome! February 9, 2008 I highly recommend this product for anyone taking violin / viola / cello lessons. Not only does it aid in tuning of the instrument, it is valuable in learning proper finger positions during practice. The LCD display and LED lights provide great sharp / on note / flat feedback. The metronome function works great and can also be used concurrently with the tuner, which is very useful.
Good Inexpensive Metronome and Tuner in One Device February 8, 2008 I wanted an inexpensive (about $30) metronome and tuner in one device. I found few choices -- typically one from each manufacturer. I decided between the Korg TM-40 and Boss TU-80. The reviews I read were better for the Korg than the Boss, so I purchased the Korg. Both the metronome and tuner meet my needs: (1) tuning my acoustic guitar and banjo to a pitch calibrated (440 or otherwise) to a piano, (2) setting a tempo (audible beep or silent) with time signature (beats per measure) and (3) "tapping" in the tempo of a song you're playing or listening to which tells you what the approximate speed is. Unfortunately, I accidently dropped my new Korg about 4 feet onto concrete, but it still works.
